"The Georgia Society of Addiction Medicine represents a small but dedicated group of physicians and health care providers who seek to improve the health and well-being of those who suffer from the disease of addiction. The mission of the Georgia Society of Addiction Medicine, a state chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, is to improve the care and treatment of people with the disease of addiction and advance the practice of Addiction Medicine. Our goal is to increase access to treatment and improve the quality of treatment provided by healthcare professionals. We aim to provide education for addiction medicine specialists, physicians, students, counselors, therapists, and others in the medical field, as well as legislators, law enforcement, and the general public while promoting the appropriate roles of physicians in the care of patients who suffer from addiction."
